WILD CAT

by David Heavenor

/

about

Based on a dream I had in my early twenties of a black panther stalking my sleep much in the kind of febrile imagery in William Blake's paintings. The recording is of a concert I gave with Jamie Noble in the Netherbow Theatre.

lyrics

Wild Cat get out of my brain
You're driving me mad, I'm going insane
Wild Cat, you're in the devil's pay
Name me your price to turn you away

I know that I'm lost I know that I'm bound
But I'm hoping to seek what I haven't yet found

I know there's the cross, I know there's the shame
But I want to crawl back to my coffin again

Now it seems friends are all lost, it seems friends have passed by
And where is my hope in the Lord of the Sky
