The story of an Irish girl who tried to come over and work in Scotland because of the dearth of employment in Dublin but it didn't work out for her and she returned.Then it turned into a song about a close relationship of friendship and companionship but the girl was lured away by another. Some men offer power, money all the trappings of success and it provides a security of a kind.
